Vote for Volunteer Bob Behounek to Win $100,000 For RMHC-CNI

Bob Behounek, a volunteer with the Charity for more than 12 years, has been selected as a finalist for The NASCAR Foundation’s 2019 Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award. The award is presented to a NASCAR fan who has done exceptional volunteer work on behalf of children in their community.

The NASCAR Foundation will donate $100,000 to the charity represented by the award winner and $25,000 to each of the other three finalists’ charities. Results of the fan vote, which runs Nov. 8 through Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. (CST) at NASCARfoundation.org/Award, will be announced on Dec. 5 during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards at Music City Center in Nashville.

Bob, a life-long NASCAR fan, has been a race-car letterer, sign painter and pin-striper for 50 years. In 2007, Bob started the Chicago Brushmasters, a volunteer force of 50 artists that has raised nearly $1 million dollars for RMHC-CNI, which provides housing and support for families so they can stay close to their critically ill children.

Based on winning the fan vote, Bob’s designated charity, RMHC-CNI, would receive funds to provide more than 1,100 nights for families in need.

“I’ve had this great opportunity to take my passion for art and turn it into something really positive,” Bob shared upon learning of his nomination. “There are families that struggle to have a place to stay when their child is in a hospital and it’s great to help people and support a great cause along the way. If I win this award, I will dedicate it to my mother. She taught me how to help people. She taught me not to just think of myself but think of other people.”

We encourage the community to show their support and vote once a day for Bob at NASCARfoundation.org/Award and help more families get better together. Learn more about Bob and his contributions to RMHC-CNI.
