Volunteers Honored at Annual Appreciation Lunch

On Sunday, May 19, volunteers gathered for an afternoon of fun at Brookfield Zoo during the annual Volunteer Appreciation party. During the lunch, three outstanding volunteers were recognized for their contributions.

This year’s Lorraine McCleverty Spirit Award went to Craig Foltos. For the past 30 years, Craig has hosted the popular “Chop Around the Clock” fundraiser at Foltos Tonsorial in Batavia, with 24 hours of haircuts, food, and fun. On top of this, Craig regularly visits the houses and offers haircuts to anyone that needs one. Craig is an exceptional representative and advocate for the charity in the community and encourages everyone he meets to get involved with RMHC-CNI.

The winner of the Ann Eppen Initiative Award was Jessica Jozwiak (right). Jessica has served in the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Edward Hospital Room since it opened, both as a volunteer in the room and on the Community Council. As Community Council Chair, Jessica has made it her mission to mobilize our volunteers, and their friends and family members, to share what RMHC-CNI provides for families. Thanks to Jessica, we have several new council members, countless in-kind donors, and a host of families that have benefited because of her efforts.

The winner of the Adrianne Chunowitz Commitment Award was Mary Ann Wislek. Mary Ann has been volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House near Loyola University Medical Center for 11 years and continually goes above and beyond in providing exceptional service and commitment. She can be found helping with laundry, cleaning in the kitchen, bagging bagels, or doing a variety of special projects. She is dependable and always open to helping and making time for the House. In everything she does, she shows her dedication and giving heart.
