1. This is a 100% smoke-free environment. NO smoking is ever allowed in the facility. This includes vapor cigarettes.
  2. Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight. There is a maximum of three to five persons allowed to stay in one room.
  3. Rooms must be occupied on a nightly basis.
  4. All guests must be healthy prior to check-in. If you become ill during your stay, please quarantine yourself in your room.
  5. Visitors are welcome, but are asked to leave the House by 9:00 p.m. We ask that you limit your guests to four at a time and that everyone signs in and out at the front desk. Each visitor must display their visitor pass during their visit. Visitors must remain with their hosts throughout their stay.
  6. You are expected to clean up after yourself at all times. Parents are also responsible for cleaning up after their children.
  7. Children under 18 years old must be supervised at all times in all rooms of the House by a parent or guardian. A child under 18 may never be left alone in the House. Children should not be left in the care of volunteers, staff, or other guest.
  8. Food and drink are not allowed in the bedrooms or lounges. Do not use cooking or heating appliances in your room. Use of candles is also prohibited.
  9. Television shows or movies with excessive violence or adult content are not appropriate for this family environment.
  10. Disruptive behavior of any kind is unacceptable. This includes inappropriate language as well as any behavior that may cause stress or discomfort to other families in the House. Violence will not be tolerated in the House and is grounds for termination of a guest’s stay at the house. This includes, but is not limited to, the intentional infliction of physical pain upon a child for any reason or any act of intentional physical aggression against a family member or domestic partner.
  11. Possession or use of alcohol, marijuana, or illegal drugs, theft (being in possession of something that does not belong to you), and the possession of firearms are all strictly prohibited.
  12. The status of each family staying in the House will be reviewed every two weeks. The Program Director, in consultation with hospital staff and the family, will determine whether the House continues to be an appropriate environment for the family. Families may be eligible to remain at the House as long as their child is in active treatment at a nearby hospital and they are spending the majority of their time at the hospital.
  13. The staff at the House is not allowed to accept the delivery of medicine or medical equipment (including oxygen tanks). You must be present to accept delivery.
  14. Medical waste cannot be disposed of on RMH property. The hospital can provide you with a sharps container or other appropriate container for the proper disposal of medical waste.
  15. Ronald McDonald House is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to any personal property.

Note: The House staff reserves the right to enter any guest room if deemed necessary. The House staff and volunteers are happy to welcome you here. We want to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. However, if the Program Director finds that you are unable to abide by our policies, the Director has the right to revoke your privilege of staying here.
