Oak Brook, Ill. (April 4, 2012) — Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) today announced that Starwood Hotels of Chicago will serve as the official hotel partner of the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House scheduled to open in Chicago this summer. The partnership will ensure that any family whose child is being cared for at a downtown Chicago hospital will have a convenient and comfortable place to stay while their child is being treated.

Designed to support potential guest overflow in the new House, this new alliance provides a hotline in which, on the rare occasion the House is overcapacity, the House Director can call to quickly determine alternate housing at a special RMHC-CNI rate at a designated Starwood hotel in the River North neighborhood.

“We are truly honored to be working with such a great organization as Ronald McDonald House Charities,” said Peter Simoncelli, General Manager, The Westin Chicago River North. “The assistance the House provides both children and their families is indescribable.”

Starwood Hotels & Resorts serves as one of the most innovative operators of lifestyle hospitality brands in the world, and is committed to helping local communities through philanthropic endeavors.  This unique partnership between RMHC-CNI and Starwood Hotels of Chicago provides an opportunity for purpose to meet profit by creating a platform for Starwood customers and employees to participate in volunteer opportunities, while providing exclusive access to offers and activities for families staying at the new House.

The Starwood Hotels of Chicago partnering with RMHC-CNI include Sheraton Chicago, The Westin Chicago River North, The Westin Michigan Avenue, W Chicago – Lakeshore, W Chicago – City Center, Four Points by Sheraton Magnificent Mile and The Tremont Chicago Hotel at Magnificent Mile. Each of the hotels involved is located within walking distance of the new House which is located at 211 E. Grand in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood near the new Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

“It is a great compliment to the City of Chicago to have the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world,” said Simoncelli. “We look forward to partnering and helping them achieve their mission through awareness and support in the Chicago business community.”
