Saks Fifth Avenue Forms Local Charitable Partnerships Nationwide

This February, Saks Fifth Avenue will give 5% of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card back to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana

 Chicago, IL (January 26, 2012) — This February, Saks Fifth Avenue will give 5% of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card back to charity.  The donations will benefit certain local organizations, keeping support within each Saks Fifth Avenue store’s immediate community.


“Saks Fifth Avenue is committed to our local communities.  We appreciate our customers’ charitable involvement and look forward to giving back locally with this exciting and newly implemented national program,” Steve Sadove, Chairman and CEO, Saks Incorporated, said.


 Customers may select which local charity from Saks Fifth Avenue’s roster they wish to allocate their 5% contribution. Registration is one simple step at point of sale linking the customer account with their chosen charity.


 Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago has partnered with the following charities from February 1 to 29, 2012:

A Better Chicago
A Better Chicago helps to equip our region’s low-income youth and families with the education and skills they need to proudly stand on their own two feet.  A Better Chicago’s board generously covers all operating expenses, so 100% of each donation goes straight to charity.


Pathways Foundation
Since 1985, is uniquely dedicated to increasing knowledge about the gift of early detection and the benefit of early therapy for infants and children with sensory, motor, or communication delays.  Aside from providing valuable tools and resources to families, also provides valuable information to healthcare professionals. 


The Service Club of Chicago
The Service Club of Chicago is a charitable organization of women, which has continually served the welfare, civic, educational and cultural needs of Chicago and surrounding communities since 1890.  Their policy of giving is to assist, improve and enlarge upon agency programs; Service Club helps recipients to expand facilities, improve equipment and initiate new programs.  Every dollar raised goes directly to charity.


Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana
The Ronald McDonald House® near Lurie Children’s will be the world’s largest, providing care and comfort to 86 families each night.  Designed to be a ‘home away from home,’ the House will be a welcome place for families to relax and replenish after a long day at their child’s bedside – a place where they can find the support to be the best advocates for their children.

Children’s Memorial Hospital
Opening June 9, 2012, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, located on the campus of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, will be a 23-story, state-of-the-art hospital offering the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design.


Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago is located at 700 North Michigan Avenue, and the Men’s Store is located across the street at 717 North Michigan Avenue.  Hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday 10-7, Thursday through Saturday 10-8 and Sunday 11-6. will also be supporting the program, with 5% of online purchases made using a registered Saks credit card, being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
