June 2012, Ramblin’ Ray had the chance to take a ‘dusty shoe tour’ to get a preview of our Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s located in downtown Chicago. So when Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) began the ’86 Day Countdown Around Town’ leading up to the Grand Opening of the nation’s largest Ronald McDonald House, Ramblin’ Ray was eager to be a part of the celebration campaign happening across the entire Chicagoland area.

Ramblin’ Ray’s story and connection with Ronald McDonald House Charities actually goes all the way back to his childhood. “When my twin sister and I were little, we held neighborhood parties in our basement that benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities.”

“They were a blast, and we made a ton of money for the kids!”  “OK, so it was only like $50, but to us it was a lot of money back then” shared Ray.

“There are a lot of people who do way more than I do, but I can help spread the word and do a little good in the hood because at the end of the day, after all the news we are bombarded with, it’s good to know in some small way you may have helped a family out.” CLICK HERE to visit Ramblin’ Ray’s blog.
