Trenton Price’s Family

While vacationing in Chicago from California, 21-month-old Trenton started having trouble breathing. His parents, Jeff and Veronica, rushed him to the ER where he stopped breathing and was placed on a ventilator. Doctor’s diagnosed Trenton with Status Asthmaticus. Due to Trenton’s critical condition, his family was immediately given the opportunity to stay at Ronald McDonald House.

For three weeks, Trenton fought for his life. Meanwhile, his family remained by his side.

“Ronald McDonald House was a safe place for our family,” said Jeff and Veronica. “Having our family together allowed our extended family to stay close to us which gave us a huge sense of comfort. The staff treated us like family and bent over backward to accommodate our longer stay, while our boys were welcomed with gifts and activities in a place that felt like home.”

Once Trenton was healthy enough for the ventilator to be removed, the family returned home to begin rehabilitation. Today, Trenton is recovering well and continues daily treatments. He enjoys playing with his brothers and dressing like Maui from Moana, his favorite movie.

“Words cannot express how thankful we are that Ronald McDonald House was there for us,” says Jeff and Veronica. “The House, staff and volunteers will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
