Damage to Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s

On Sunday night, August 9, 2020, our Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s sustained minor exterior damage to the front entrance as part of the civil unrest in the city. Thankfully, there was no damage done to the inside of the House and none of the 30 families staying at the House or staff were hurt.

On Monday, we had the front entrance fully boarded up until we complete repairs.

Ronald McDonald House is an extension of essential medical care and we prioritize the safety of the families who rely on us to provide a secure, comfortable place for them to stay and be close to their hospitalized child. We have – and we will continue to – work hand in hand with our hospital partners to ensure that families can get to and from the hospital safely.

Thanks to our incredible team on the front lines, we have provided continuous service for families through the pandemic and this challenging time. Families need us more than ever.
