RMHC Hospitality a la Carte

In 2018, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) rolled out its first RMHC Hospitality a la Carte, a mini Ronald McDonald House on wheels designed to serve the families of patients at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

The cart, which offers items including snacks, beverages, hygiene products, and fun activities for parents and children, enables Ronald McDonald House to bring the care given at Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms, directly to children and their families inside the hospital. Through the cart, we serve more than 100 families a week by providing items that help fill an empty stomach or bring a smile to the face of a child during a difficult time.

The volunteer-staffed cart is available to patients and families in the hospital and can be found on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. in various public spaces within Lurie Children’s.

The RMHC Hospitality a la Carte was made possible thanks to the generous support from McDonald’s Owner/Operator Phil Fuentes and family with ongoing operational support provided by Fisher Nuts.
