Hospitality a la Carte

For children and families in the hospital, spotting the RMHC Hospitality a la Carte coming down the hall means that comfort — in the form of a snack, a game, or a cup of coffee — is only steps away.

Our RMHC Hospitality a la Carte, a mini Ronald McDonald House on wheels, allows us to help fill an empty stomach or bring a smile directly to children and their families by offering snacks, beverages, toiletry products such as toothbrushes, and fun activities for parents and children.

All families of pediatric patients are welcome to use the RMHC Hospitality a la Carte and do not need to be guests of a Ronald McDonald House or Family Room.

Where to Find the RMHC Hospitality a la Carte

Lurie Children’s

The volunteer-staffed cart is available to patients and families on all Intensive Care Floors within Lurie Children’s on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The RMHC Hospitality a la Carte at Lurie Children’s was made possible thanks to the generous support from McDonald’s Owner/Operator Phil Fuentes and family with ongoing operational support provided by Fisher Nuts.

Comer Children’s

The volunteer-staffed cart is available to patients and families in Comer Children’s pediatric waiting rooms on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The RMHC Hospitality a la Carte at University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Betty Lou Smith Fund with the support of Jon Will.
