There are families whose children are so critically ill that leaving the hospital to stay two blocks away isn’t an option.
For those families, expanding our Family Rooms and Houses inside hospital settings gives them the comfort and services they need when and where they need it most.
At Advocate Children’s Hospital – Park Ridge and Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital, we will be able to provide much-needed respite spaces so local and traveling families can find a moment to rest, take a shower, sit down for a meal, or simply get away from the sounds of the hospital – all while remaining steps from their child in the NICU or pediatric care unit.
In the first full year of operation, we anticipate providing more than 2,700 overnight family check-ins and over 36,000 visits.
Join us today in giving more families critically needed comfort and care where they need it most.
We have a great family, we have great friends, we have a great support system, but if we didn’t have the Ronald McDonald House, things would be so much more challenging.”
We served 18,209 children last year across our Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, and Care Mobile programs.
Families saved $8.7 million in food and lodging costs in 2019 by staying at one of our five area Ronald McDonald Houses or three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms.
We provided nearly 45,000 nights to families in need so they could stay near their hospitalized child.
