About Sandra Bacon:

Sandra is a classically trained, versatile artist known nationally both for her paintings and public artwork/murals. She was raised in the Chicagoland area and has a masters degree in painting from Maryland Institute Graduate School of Painting. She is currently living in Lake Bluff. Sandra has had great success in painting fiberglass projects in the past, and believes that public art has the ability to stimulate curiosity, inform, engage and encourage dialogue about issues that are important to the community: in this case the importance of helping other , and of working to achieve your dreams by discipline and hard work.

Other fiberglass painted sculptures that she has done are: Suite Home Chicago, a Dinosaur for the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, a panda for the Washington DC commission on the Arts ( placed in front of the Smithsonian Air and Space museum), 3 large Cool Globes(and 32 miniatures)- 2 who are currently traveling Europe,and 1 at BP headquarters,. In addition, she worked with inner city children on “By Your Hands” to do a large Cool Globe  for the Field Museum. Her smaller ones are in the collection of :P resident Bill Clinton, the Chicago Department of the Environment, Toyota, Federal Express. . . among others.

Sandra’s large scale murals grace the Lake Bluff Train Station, and other locations from Massachussuets to California. She has recently worked with children in the Round lake Schools to develop large murals for the William Wyland Ecological challenge on oceans. She has been exhibiting in the past year at the Brooklyn Waterfront Museum, Avrahm Eisen Gallery(Chicago), Dandelion Gallery Waukegan). 

Sandra is the Chicagoland artist representative for Golden Paints, and teach lectures/demos and workshops for colleges, universities, and art groups throughout the Midwest.
