Help Provide a ‘home away from home’ this holiday

Your gift of $50 will sponsor a family for one night at a Ronald McDonald House
providing care and comfort during their greatest time of need.

A mere one pound… that’s how much twin preemies Will and Ben each weighed when they were born three months early. Newborn parents, Sean and Wendy, who simply wanted to hold their baby boys, were overwhelmed with emotions and fears. Hour-by-hour, the state of Will and Ben’s conditions changed. Ventilators breathed for them, tubes fed them, and lights warmed them. Sean and Wendy embraced every moment they had together with their sons. But on day two of life in the N.I.C.U., Ben’s fight for life was too much of a struggle for his little body. Surrounded by the love and support of his family, Ben passed away with grace and dignity.

“One of our children had become an angel before they even had a chance to live. In grief, we put on our battle gear to be there for every second of Will’s fight,” said Wendy. “We felt truly blessed to have the love and support of Ronald McDonald House. When we arrived at the House, we were speechless and tears immediately filled our eyes. A home-cooked meal had been prepared by a group of volunteers and was waiting for us in the kitchen. We were able to stay as long as Will needed us and we definitely needed him. The House showed us that there are extraordinary people going through the same unordinary situation and this gave us tremendous comfort.”

After spending one hundred days at Ronald McDonald House, while Will fought for his life in the N.I.C.U, Sean and Wendy finally were able to bring their baby boy home weighing a healthy and happy five pounds, two ounces.

It’s a great way to say thank you to family and friends, teachers, coaches or to honor the memory of someone special. Whether you can help sponsor a family’s stay for one… two… three nights, or more, your gift will keep families together,
right where they belong.

Thank you for your support!
