Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist and Norris Trophy winner Duncan Keith partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) on behalf of his foundation, Keith Relief, to sponsor one of the two special transplant floors dedicated to pediatric transplant patients and their families at our Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s.

Keith Relief was founded in 2011 and is dedicated to alleviating the financial and emotional burdens of families and individuals suffering from medical crisis.

“Ronald McDonald House Charities is such a great organization and I am proud to support their cause,” said Keith. “I love Chicago and Keith Relief has allowed me to give back to the city in a meaningful way. The transplant floor at Ronald McDonald House provides the comfort and care that these families so desperately need during this difficult time,” Keith added.

RMHC-CNI is truly grateful for the amazing support from Duncan Keith and honored to be in partnership with his foundation.

Duncan Keith paid a special visit to our Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s to meet the Pfister family who had been staying on the floor sponsored by The Keith Relief Foundation.  Andrew Pfister, just seven months old, was born with an extremely rare heart defect and needed surgery.

So, the Pfister family traveled from Norco, California to Chicago to ensure Andrew had the best medical care at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. During the Pfisters stay at Ronald McDonald House, Laura Pfister wrote a personal thank you note to Keith thanking him for his support in sponsoring the floor and helping to make their ‘Heart Journey’ to Chicago possible.

When Duncan received the special note, he wanted to make sure the Pfister family had a proper send-off before returning back home to California.  Not only was the meeting a priceless moment, but Duncan then took time to meet with all of the families before dinner was served that evening.  We truly couldn’t be more thankful for Duncan Keith making our families feel so special.
