As a Chicagoan, Danni was aware of Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout her life. But, it wasn’t until she took a tour of Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s that she truly saw all of the amazing things that RMHC-CNI has done for so many children and their families. She first became involved with RMHC-CNI at the Hot Chocolate 15/5K race where she was asked to run on behalf of RMHC-CNI’s ‘Strides for Families’ program.
“There is so much attention to detail at the House, down to the themed play rooms, the added family care and incredible kitchen! RMHC-CNI takes many of the everyday burdens out of the lives of these struggling families and lets them focus on what is really important- the happiness and health for every child that walks through the door.”
Danni’s favorite memory was telling her Grandma that she was working with Ronald McDonald House Charities; a tear fell down her cheek, she grabbed Danni’s hand and said “did you know that Lurie Children’s was the hospital that saved your Father’s life?” Her father was born with a hole in his heart and struggled as a child. It means so much to Danni to be part of the RMHC-CNI family!
