NORTHBROOK, Ill. – No one knows better than Coldwell Banker that four walls and a roof may make a house, but it takes love, hard work and commitment to turn a house into a home.

This holiday season, the area’s leading residential brokerage company is putting that knowledge to good use by rallying its agents, offices, family and friends to support the new “Help Make This House a Home” campaign supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

Focused on providing home goods, toys and other much-needed items to outfit the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House set to open summer of 2012 in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, this initiative will provide care and comfort to seriously-ill children being treated at local Chicago hospitals and their families.

“We have been proud partners of RMHC-CNI for many years through our Foundation, which focuses on housing-related charities that serve the communities where our agents work and live,” said Fran Broude, president and COO of Coldwell Banker. “This holiday season, we’re proud to have our agents help make the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House a home.”

The new 14-story House with 86 guest rooms will support the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Before the House can open its doors to families next summer, countless essential items are needed so that the children and their families truly feel they are in the comfort of their own home.

Coldwell Banker is sponsoring RMHC-CNI’s house “wish list,” which covers everything that families could need while their children are in the hospital. The wish list for the house includes essential items such as bedding, bathroom linens, cups, plates, bowls, silverware, trash cans, pots, pans, toasters, alarm clocks, flash lights, serving platters, playpens, inflatable beds, hangers, umbrellas and more. Over the next six weeks, leading up to the holidays, agents – along with their friends and family – will come together to help those in need by purchasing these items for the House.

“Coldwell Banker has been an outstanding supporter for numerous RMHC-CNI projects over the years, and we are so incredibly grateful that they are spearheading this “virtual” House-warming party,” said Doug Porter, CEO of RMHC-CNI.

“We cannot open the House without blankets for sleeping, dishes for eating and toys for playing.”

Coldwell Banker’s generous efforts are truly going to help make our new House a home.”

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, Coldwell Banker representatives will be picking up the donated “wish list” gifts from its various office locations and delivering them to the Streeterville location just in time for the holidays.
