Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®

In a world experiencing unprecedented advances in medicine, thousands of children in the Chicago area still do not have access to proper medical care.

However, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana, along with Advocate Children’s Hospital, is helping to address this critical need. Our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile delivers cost effective care directly to under-served children in their own neighborhood. The vehicle is 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and incorporates two patient exam rooms, a waiting room and a medical records area.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile serves as a state-of-the-art medical clinic. The program’s focus is to provide initial health screening, immunizations, primary care treatment, and referral/follow up appointments for everyday and serious medical needs. To date, we have served thousands of children in the Chicago area who would have otherwise gone untreated.

Breaking Service Records in 2014

Thanks to expanded service initiatives in 2014, the Care Mobile provided medial care to more children than ever this past year, for the first time surpassing 2,500 patient visits!  Our great medical partners from Advocate Children’s Hospital visited locations within close proximity to their hospitals in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge, targeting schools with the highest poverty rate. We are proud of the care and compassion that the Care Mobile is providing to children in need and thank Advocate Children’s Hospital for partnering with us in these efforts.
